HUNGARIAN NATIONAL HOLIDAY

Today was a Hungarian national holiday. And I was very surprised, that I heard, that some people don’t know what we celebrate in this day. Here is some information. Bear in mind!

It was on this day 160 years ago that the Hungarians began a revolution against Austrian rule under the Hapsburgs. This event helped to propel Europe into World War I, and eventually put an end to the Hapsburg Empire. So, even though Hungary did not win their battle for independence at that time, they still celebrate the day the revolution began on March 15, 1848.

I found also some interesting pictures.

Hy!

I am not surprised, I feel sorry for them. But this isn't the only problem: there are people who don't know how should we celebrate. You know I mean some gruops who think that a national holiday is a perfect place to sound their opinion about politics, for example:(...

Our world is changing. Words like 'holiday' and 'celebration' have different meanings these days. It would be great to keep up our traditions, really know our history and be proud of our roots.
